This workshop will bring attention to our breath - to the physical act of breathing and to what being able to breathe means to each of us.
Led by Yoga teacher Ambreen Hameed, director Natasha Freedman and artist Angie Brew, the workshop involves breathing and drawing.
You will need: paper and pencil
Below are three breath exercises offered by Hameed. We invite you to draw along as you do the breath exercises. Do the exercise once without drawing, then repeat, drawing along. If Hameed instructs you to do things with your hands that are incompatible with drawing, please adapt her instruction or pause your drawing at that point - its up to you. You might also like to draw after the exercises, to reflect on your breath and feelings in your body.
Please share your drawings and feedback - on the 2B symposium Miro board if you are a 2B member, or by email at [email protected]
Drawing Breath is part of a wider project to develop an under-represented youth voice around social justice, the environment and our right to breathe clean air.
Natasha and Angie have collaborated on previous Thinking through Drawing workshops, including at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC.
