2B Drawing Changes Symposium 2020
105 people from all over the world attended 2B Drawing Changes in October 2020.

If you missed it, you can now attend 2B, after the event. We have over 1300 minutes of video of live and pre-recorded workshops, presentations and discussions exploring the power of drawing to affect change, and our responses to global changes in 2020.

Click here for details of the symposium:  2B Drawing Changes Programme

Your ticket will also give you access to the 2B interactive Miro board which
we created during the event to share drawings, comments, thoughts, questions, plus a 2B October Proceedings board. It is a great way to keep in touch with drawers and drawing lovers all around the world.

NB: We do not want money to be a barrier to you joining the 2B TTD network, so please do contact us and let us know why you are keen to join us - we can be flexible with the price of your ticket. E mail drawingandcognition@gmail.com

What people thought of the 2B Symposium October 2020

The conference was amazing! I was and still am so psyched and inspired. Thank you all so much for providing such rich and varied programming.
Pamela

Thanks again for such an enriching experience. It was great to meet virtually artists and art educators doing such amazing work.Thank you for making me part of such a rich experience of sharing and learning.
Sarita

It was such a wonderful time of personal and collective enrichment, so I'd like more of that. A wonderful experience this weekend with the symposium, attendees, and organizers. Thank you!
Chelsea

Congrats to you all for a fascinating conference! I really enjoyed learning from so many people. I hope you’re now getting some rest and sleep! Thanks again and very well done,
Sanchita

Thanks for this and all your work organising the conference.  It great to see all the networks of drawing practice that are out there and how people are drawing online.
Belinda

A huge thank you for an absolutely brilliant symposium. There were so many fantastic sessions and all so beautifully thought out and timed etc. My head was totally abuzz with thoughts, inspiration and people I wanted to talk and draw more with.... it was so good to have time to really make connections and share drawing time together.
Jo

Thank you very much indeed, it was wonderful to commiserate with artists, educators and enthusiasts for a few days. It was a lot of screen time, but that is where we are for now, so we just have to get up and stretch and eat well, and go out for a bit afterwards.

A lot of the conversation eased my mind and thoughts about teaching drawing remotely (hate that word! Sounds like I am in Antartica), so especially thanks for that. Lots of great ideas as well, and more to look forward to - which may the best outcome of the symposium for all of us: looking forward.
David

A HUGE THANK YOU for putting on the Symposium!  I learned so much and feel so wonderfully connected to drawing enthusiasts all over the world! It was definitely worth all your effort and time.
Rose

I just want to thank you and your colleagues so much for a really excellent symposium last weekend. It was so well done, so worth attending.
Gillian

I SO appreciate all the organizers, speakers, and participants who made it a wonderful event.
Brandy

We had such a terrific time with you and all the participants and facilitators in October it really was a treat. I am looking forward to more exploration of the weekend through the proceedings and everything that is still available.
Cassandra

Thanks again for the fascinating symposium. The Miro board really worked well - it is good to re review the talks and discussions at ones leisure. I look forward to catching up again soon.
Jen

While I wasn't in the sessions  due to the time difference I have since worked my way through most of the videos. I wanted to say I really enjoyed the experience and would like to stay connected via future (monthly) workshops..
Debra

Many thanks for this. I have been meaning to say how very warm and productive I felt the weekend to be. It was very much a community. Some very good workshops too. It was very good to be part of.
Sue

I want to thank you all so much for being my inspirations and teachers over the years as I've tried to update my thesis with current research. A large part of the updated material came from participating in TtD events and reading publications by participants. So, you're all part of my book in different ways, both individually and as the co-founders of TtD, and I can honestly say that the book would not have happened without the revitalization of drawing research that you brought into my life. I only wish I could thank you at the symposium actually rather than virtually!
Seymour

I enjoyed 2B so much. The whole weekend was rich and relevant and extremely well put together, I am grateful for it and the 'after-care',
Beth

This has been life changing for me. Thank you so much!!
Nancy

Closing Remarks & Marks

Free Taster of Drawing Breath workshop 2B - Healing:

Drawing Breath - with Hameed, Freedman & Brew

This workshop will bring attention to our breath - to the physical act of breathing and to what being able to breathe means to each of us. Led by Yoga teacher Ambreen Hameed, director Natasha Freedman and artist Angie Brew, the session will involve breathing and drawing.

You will need: paper and pencil.

Drawing Breath is part of a wider project to develop an under-represented youth voice around social justice, the environment and our right to breathe clean air. Natasha and Angie have collaborated on previous Thinking through Drawing workshops, including at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC.

Below are three breath exercises offered by Hameed. We invite you to draw along as you do the breath exercises.
